Over time, my package.accept_keywords files accumulate entries that are obsolete in the sense that the corresponding ebuilds, or newer versions thereof, have been stabilized. How do I check for this, without manually doing, e.g., an eix -I <package name> for each entry?

Try app-portage/portpeek, it scans through your files in /etc/portage/package* and compares each package atom with installed package version. It can remove outdated entries right away, but I'd recommend to always carefully review the resulting list before applying changes. |

Have you tried running eix-test-obsolete? It may not catch everything, but should be a good starting point. |

Thanks! That works quite nicely.

Oh, I missed that eix functionality. Thanks for pointing it out! |
