Hi all,
I just've upgraded to kde 5 from kde 4 and got a strange problem - menus in some apps do not work. Only the main menu is shown, but when i click on any oprion, nothing happens, the submenu won't appear on the screen. The same is for right-click popup menus - they don't appear. Looks like they are actually shown, but just invisible.
In some apps menus work - for example in Kate and in Konsole. In some - KTorrent, KMail, Kontact, Yakuake, Konqueror they don't work.
upd: I think menu does not work in qt4 apps. Is there anything I should do to fix it?

Please describe how and exactly what you have upgraded - did you follow the Plasma-5 upgrade guide on Gentoo wiki?

| Maybe it's just a scrambled theme config, did you try to switch the workspace theme back and forth from breeze to oxygen? Is it the same for a testuser without existing kde configuration? |

Tried with a new user, aso tried to change theme. The same probem - menus in kde4 apps do not work.
Also it looks like that it's not just menu, the KMail won't receive and send any mails. Used to work before theupgrade. |

| One thing that all these issues seem to have in common is the plague that is called Nvidia Optimus. I would investigate in that direction, if possible, try to disable dedicated graphics and try with Intel for once. |

| Also another curiosity - in Skype popup menus work, kind of, they just shown not as vertical box but unfold horizontally on top of the screen. And only in chat window, there's still no menu in plain contact list. Pic related http://i.imgur.com/QISFlvi.png?1 |

Fixed the problem by disabling xinerama use flag in make.conf and rebuilding packages having this flag.
By default xinerama is on in the /usr/portage/profiles/targets/desktop/plasma/make.defaults file. |
