|
|
i got all the way through install.txt, everything was going incredibly smooth. i've got /dev/hda1 setup as the root partition, no seperate boot partition. it's ext3. fstab is set up to reflect all that. grub is configured as described in the install docs, except root=/dev/hda1 instead of hda3.
but when i hit enter in grub to boot [i can't wait the 15 seconds], it goes like it's loading for a second, says something about the bzImage, and then it reboots.
i've booted off the cd again, and everything looks like it should. as far as i can tell, anyway. the only thing i can think of that's out of place is when i'm setting up grub, i type root (hd0,0), and it says that it's ext2fs. seems it should say ext3fs, or something.
any ideas on what i can do to get this thing to boot? |

This sounds a lot like https://forums.gentoo.org/faq.php#15. Could that be your problem? Welcome to the forums, btw. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
