I am at a loss at what the issue could be... I installed Enlightenment in the following way with an overlay"
Code:

emerge --ask app-portage/layman app-portage/eix dev-vcs/bzr dev-vcs/mercurial

layman --fetch
layman --list

layman -fa enlightenment
eix-update

nano /etc/portage/package.keywords

x11-wm/enlightenment **
dev-libs/efreet **
dev-libs/eina **
dev-libs/e_dbus **
dev-libs/embryo **
dev-libs/ecore **
dev-libs/eet **
dev-libs/eeze **
media-libs/evas **
media-libs/edje **

emerge enlightenment

emerge dbus
rc-update add dbus default

I update my ~/.xinitrc with the following code:
Code:

exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session enlightenment_start

I attempt to startx and receive the following:
Code:

bin # startx
xauth:  file /root/.serverauth.10185 does not exist

Is enlightenment installed correctly? Is there a file enlightenment_start in /usr/bin? I'm asking because I had a similar problem with the normal repository.
After emerge enlightenment something went wrong, I think the packages are broken, because no efl was installed as dependencies etc...

I downgraded with emerge enlightenment:17 and voila, 6 new packages were listed as dependencies and were installed together with enlightenment. Afterwards I had an entry in /usr/bin
