Hello Dear Penguinoids! :D

Your brah is in need of helping wing to help him fly again!

Situation: two apps fail with pointing finger at my GlibC:
1. Steam(binary, not from overlay).
dmesg output: CSteamControlle[25789]: segfault at 0 ip 00000000f46b7b03 sp 00000000ebc55630 error 6 in UTF-32.so[f46b7000+2000]
Issue happens when I connect Steam Controller.
2. TCPDUMP
Output:
tcpdump: relocation error: /lib64/libpthread.so.0: symbol __getrlimit, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference

I need to know, basically how to check GlibC for sanity and what to do to fix it. GCC seems to work as of yet So I am not half bad yet. But I want to use my controller + tcpdump.

Thank you in advance!

P.S.: I hope I am in right place for that.

My original question remains, how do I know my glibc is OK?

I think, the segfault is caused by a programming error in steam.

Have a look at the adress.

turns out I have old glibc libraries around, which confused some apps + steam. My fault by all means.
I was restoring system from broken glibc+gcc. I had to manually copy glibc to already installed machine.
How do I close topic?

Thanks for suggestion.

I wont be solving it just yet, as no practical suggestion was given, some one else may stumble problem with glibc and won't know how to do it.
From my experience - I would suggest other users check for duplicates of glibc files.
