I am unsure why this is failing. I just installed everything the exact same way (through the handbook) a few hours ago in a Virtual Machine and now I am installing on my desktop.

I started to download the kernel with emerge -av gentoo-sources

This is the output I get from the command

Code:

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild  N     ] sys-devel/bc-1.06.95-r1::gentoo  USE="readline -libedit -static" 284 KiB
[ebuild  N    ~] sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-4.3.0:4.3.0::gentoo  USE="-build -experimental -kdbus -symlink" 84,903 KiB

Total: 2 packages (2 new), Size of downloads: 85,187 KiB

Would you like to merge these packages? [Yes/No] y

As suggested by the error, here is the output of emerge --info '=sys-devel/bc-1.06.95-r1::gentoo'
