for some time now i've been experiencing random crashes of firefox (starting with 41, i think) on two different ~amd64-systems. both systems are up to date, one has an amd-cpu and a radeon hd 7450 and runs with radeon kms; the other one an i5-cpu and an nvidia gf750ti and runs with nouveau. the crashes happen under fluxbox and xfce on both systems.
after some time (always different), usually when i click on something (link, button, etc.) on the page shown the browser closes immediately, and when i open it again everything is restored just to the exact state as before, even session-dependent things like unposted forum-posts, shopping carts, filled forms, otrs-logins etc. i checked and no firefox-process runs in the background in these cases. when i started firefox from the console no error-message was shown there when firefox crashed.
it's not severe but it gets annoying from time to time.
what could be the reason for this and how can it be fixed?

yes, built with system-cairo.
also with system-icu, system-jpeg and system-sqlite.
do you recommend i use the bundled one(s)?

I have also issues with a crashing firefox-42 and I didnt build it with system-* use flags:
