Posting timing is way off

I know there is a time limit between posting to stop spam but it is so long now that I am constantly getting stuck having to wait about 25 seconds for it to time out. Can you put it back to 5-10 seconds?

Seriously, however, I'm afraid this can't be readily accommodated. Blame the spammers. It used to be lower, but those idiots thought it a good idea to post the same*#%^@ trash hundreds of times over. We've seen as many as 700 spamposts coming from the same "user", arriving as fast as the server could process them. So the timer was bumped up to address this problem.

It's currently at around a minute. I still find it hard to imagine that two cogent thoughts in a row could be not only be had, but also typed out, in less time than that. Please accept both my congratulations at such impressive display of skill, and my apologies that it cannot be more readily accommodated.

What are the chances of a countdown on the page where it says you've posted too fast? "you have 39,38,37 seconds to wait"

I think it should be made even longer, to encourage CERTAIN PEOPLE to actually think before just excreting the first thing that comes to mind.

I don't know about that. While it may have limited the frequency of his posts, I'm not sure the delay has caused actual thought to occur.
