runbox programs

I'm looking for a runbox dialog. I've tried gnome's, xfce's, grun, and gmrun and not really satisfied yet. I don't want kde's because I've got no other software that uses qt and I'd see that as overkill. What other ones are out there? I'm running openbox as my window manager and I'd prefer a GTK2 app.

For a nice gtk+ one try gmrun, it has some nice touches like tab completion and history.

Code: Select all

emerge -vp gmrun

Do any of these programs have a run as root check box? This would be very helpful to me since I often have to open a terminal and su to root and run my text editor to certain config files.

i forgot whether bbrun does or not, but you could always preface your command with xterm -e 'su -c "your command"'

I dont know anything about it. I had planned on trying it out later.

Maybe you can try it.
