I've found this manual
http://slated.org/return_to_castle_wolfenstein_linux
and a properly updated source code
https://github.com/hexameron/RTCW-SP-linux
No more sound problems with deprecated /dev/dsp. No more multilib dependancy(can be built natively on x86_64) and deprecated lib-compat-1.4.2-r1.
My suggestion is that games-fps/wolfgl should be updated to this source.

If you want to be heard by a developer, your chances are better if you file a corresponding beump request bug.
