I keep reporting right margin trouble, and i wonder, do anyone care about it?
While it's easier to read when margin is fixed and you don't have to scroll to read the reminder, shall we really care about it?
Most topics will be dead/fix/end sooner than later, and it's not big issue if someone need to scroll right to read something, and it should bug more users seeking the solve from the topic than everyone. I would say a little audience.

Should we keep reporting it and ask mods to fix what may not be a big issue? (a too much work for a too little trouble)

krinn,

It bugs me too and I have a 2560 pixel wide screen.
I tend to fix this in posts whenever I come across it.
I don't promise to fix it to fit 1024x768 though :)

Keep reporting it.

Neddy/JRG, is there some pre-formating line breaks/whatever we can do to help prevent the issue on posting? Is it just within [code] blocks of a given length lacking whitespace, etc. or what?

I forget the details when it was talked about a few years back. At some point I would imagine the forums will transition to a new code base and the problem will disappear.

Navar,

Its mostly machine output with no line breaks in code tags.

Code:
emerge --info
output, build log fragments ...
Code:
lsmod
outputs ...

So the forum software is doing nothing to anything within [code] blocks, whereas only certain browsers parsing wrap at window boundary margins.

How are you going about 'fixing' in a post? Adding breaks at 80/130, etc. columns? Just wondering what the templated workaround is.

Navar,

Looking for white space or commas between items anh inserting \ and \n so the post stays machine readable and its obvious where its been tampered with.
That allows it to be undone later if needed.

I don't count characters on a line, just compare it approximately with a line that works.
