Forgive me if it's already been mentioned in these forums somewhere, but I saw this article today and it's nice to see Gentoo Linux getting some publicity elsewhere. _________________ Clevo W230SS: amd64, VIDEO_CARDS="intel modesetting nvidia".

Is it though? Besides Phoronix I've not seen Gentoo mentioned in connection with this anywhere, not even on the official OnHub pages. Then again, most people won't care what's inside. _________________

Interesting, thanks. And you're both right ofc; it's nice to see Gentoo being used, but it's a shame no user's really going to hear about it from Google(R).
The "vision" seems to be that you don't need your desktop PC or laptop, any more; just do everything on your phone or tablet instead.
Certainly makes sense for the consumer-end of the market, which is what all these corporate "giants" are chasing.
Can't see much call for "fast-user switching" and "sharing X according to USB hub" in that scenario, mind. |

See here for the blurb (which is what made me think this is about not needing a desktop or lappy any more.) |
