SOLVED :

I fixed the issue a bit after posting... hope this will help for further reference anyway.

Here's what I did, take from https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29082

Just install the DirectX version from the Skyrim directory.
wine DirectX10/DXSETUP.exe

-----------------------

Hi everyone,

I'm throwing a bottle in the sea since I don't find any fixes for an issue I have with The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim under Wine.

The game itself works fine and I have sound during the splash screen but after that, no sound at all in menus or in-game.

When I run Fallout New Vegas, I do have sound in game without problems, no specific tweaks required.

I tried wine amd64 (1.6.2) and ~amd64 (1.7.36 and 1.7.47) with and without the pulseaudio flag but no more luck.

I've played with the audio settings of Wine (I can choose pulse audio or analog and disabled / enabled pulseaudio ( pulseaudio -k ) as well without success.

I'm running XFCE 4.12 and pulseaudio has been pulled after the 4.10 -> 4.12 upgrade.

I've compiled wine, pulseaudio, alsa-lib and alsa-plugins with ABI x86_32 and x86_64. gst-plugins-alsa is not compiled with ABI x86_32, not sure if it matters.

I recall having sound under Arch Linux more than a year ago so it should be doable.

Here's some technical info if relevant :
