|
|
Hi,
My system is gentoo 64 bit, KDE 5 + Plasma, up to date.
The system is upgraded from KDE 4, so I want to complete reset my desktop settings. I tried to delete:
- ~/.config/kde*
- ~/.kde*
But after restart, the KDE environment still remember my KDE Wallet settings, and wifi settings. I wonder if there's any configuration files I missed. _________________ David Shen |

Most Plasma 5 settings seem to have moved to no longer be in any KDE-specific directory. For example, I have ~/.config/kwalletrc. |

I do not think that is step forward _________________ .... there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth

Today I was on the same mission. The config files are scattered everywhere in the .config directory. And what about ~/.cache/ksys*,plasma*, ~/.local/share/k* ... This is a pure mess! What the heck is the reason not putting this into one folder? |

I fear more and more: USERS DON'T TOUCH CONFIG FILES (we know best)
and notice the move away from simple text file config files to xml and other
obsfucations
not the linux way _________________ .... there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth
