|
|
Hello people,
Under either xfce or lxde, clicking on the buttons to either power off, reboot or suspend won't work. The applications seem to close and then the system looks frozen alghouth ctrl + alt + backspace leads me to a tty where I can restart lxdm to reenter in the desktop.
However , and all work fine as expected.
Any help to make the buttons work is appreciated, thanks! |

You mean the commands with systemctl? They work as root. |

well ordinary user needs something to grant superuser "root" permissons temporarily.
after i added this
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1021554-highlight-.html
my ordinary user got permissons back to do superuser things in k3b.
I would not be suprised if that works for your case too.
Maybe I am just too oldfashioned to use a terminal and type halt or shutdown -h now ... |

Thanks for the suggestion. I decided to remove lxdm and start xfce with lightdm and this fixed the problem. I think it's because lxdm doesn't use "-ck" when loading xfce which causes this problem. |
