Hi
I just want to inform you that a new version of Alien vs. Predator was released for Linux, Raspberry Pi and Mac OS X :
http://icculus.org/avp/
I want to indicate that a new version of this game has the experimental support for SDL 2, and the author used cmake to change the compilation process. Additionally, you can compile this game on Linux x86_64. In the newest version of AvP AnonymousHoser from icculus.org added an experimental support for AvP Classic Redux which is the most interesting feature in this game:

Oh, that's cool. I didn't think this would ever get updated again. Anyone wanna take a jab at updating the ebuild? |

In 2013, nobody worked on the Linux version of AvP, but some users have started to work on AvP for AROS, Pandora, MorphOS etc.
I think that the most interesting version was created for MorphOS, and someone decided to start working on the original project. I do not know who is the author, but maybe it is someone who worked on AvP for other operating systems.
Btw, many years ago, the creator of the Linux version used patches from Gentoo to fix compilation issues in the old Linux version of AvP.
In the last year, someone worked on the ebuild of AvP from 2007:

Compiling this was easy, but for some reason it won't grab my mouse. I can only use the keyboard. Pointless. |

I think that you have to use a shortcut ctrl - g in order to use the mouse in the game. |

That helped. Going fullscreen with alt+enter is even better, otherwise the mouse is unreliable. |

I recommend trying to use AvP Classic Redux:
