which ebuild is affected ...
Just an idea, how about a clean home directory. and set a new mouse cursour theme? disable any desctop effects?
Maybe you just turned on some effects of one of your installed packages. like panel, desctop environment, window manager, whatever you use ... |

I'm seeing this too, on mate, and it must be fairly recent phenomenon. These ebuilds got updated over the past two days:

caaarlos,
Rename /usr/share/cursors/xorg-x11/, which is your software cursors.
I had /usr/share/cursors/xorg-x11/Adwaita, so its now /usr/share/cursors/xorg-x11/Adwaita_do_not_use/
Next time you start Xorg you will get hardware cursors, which is what I like anyway.
Does the hardware pointer still vanish? _________________ Regards,

That makes no difference here. But downgrading nvidia-driver from 346.35 to 343.36 fixes the problem.
Nice trick with the cursors directory, I can't stand Adwaita ...
@tw04l124: It's the same driver with different use flags that shouldn't affect the driver itself (tools). |

Yes... the problem is nvida-drivers. I removed my xorg.conf and X started correctly.
This is my xorg.conf that gives the error: https://bpaste.net/show/d2f12411b576
Is there some configuration errors? Or do you think the problem is the version o nvida driver?
Thanks for helping me! |

And my GPU is: 09:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK208M [GeForce GT 740M] (rev a1)
What do you think about it? |

I have solved this problem using
Option "SWCursor" "True" on my xorg.conf
Why using hardware cursor gives me the error? |
