When my mouse pointer goes to the top of my screen the pointer gets invisible.

These are the screenshots...

Mouse almost on top: http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/capturadetela-07-02-2015-121552.php

Mouse on top: http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/capturadetela-07-02-2015-121742.php

This problem only appers on the top of screen.

SErious please be more specific. Looks in the basket for the glass ball to guess, where is it o.o

Which Desktop environment, Which apps are running and so on.

emerge --info
and other useful informations are appreciated. Thanks

lshw

which ebuild is affected ...

Just an idea, how about a clean home directory. and set a new mouse cursour theme? disable any desctop effects?

Maybe you just turned on some effects of one of your installed packages. like panel, desctop environment, window manager, whatever you use ...

Looks like xfce.

I'm seeing this too, on mate, and it must be fairly recent phenomenon. These ebuilds got updated over the past two days:
Code:

     Thu Feb  5 21:48:09 2015 >>> net-wireless/aircrack-ng-1.2_rc1-r1
     Thu Feb  5 21:48:28 2015 >>> sys-apps/openrc-0.13.9
     Thu Feb  5 23:04:45 2015 >>> x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-346.35
     Fri Feb  6 20:08:45 2015 >>> app-crypt/p11-kit-0.20.7
     Fri Feb  6 20:09:40 2015 >>> sys-apps/busybox-1.23.1
     Fri Feb  6 20:09:48 2015 >>> www-plugins/adobe-flash-11.2.202.442
     Fri Feb  6 20:11:46 2015 >>> games-arcade/rocksndiamonds-3.3.1.2
     Fri Feb  6 20:13:02 2015 >>> sys-devel/autogen-5.18.1
     Fri Feb  6 20:15:15 2015 >>> net-libs/gnutls-3.3.10-r2
     Fri Feb  6 20:16:17 2015 >>> x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-346.35
     Fri Feb  6 21:27:27 2015 >>> media-video/libav-9.17
     Fri Feb  6 21:27:47 2015 >>> mail-mta/nullmailer-1.13-r5
     Fri Feb  6 21:36:38 2015 >>> net-analyzer/wireshark-1.12.3
     Fri Feb  6 21:36:49 2015 >>> net-misc/vpnc-0.5.3_p527-r1
     Fri Feb  6 21:37:15 2015 >>> net-libs/glib-networking-2.40.1-r1

Kernel was updated to 3.17.8-r1 five days ago, but I didn't notice this behaviour until today.

caaarlos,

Rename /usr/share/cursors/xorg-x11/, which is your software cursors.
I had /usr/share/cursors/xorg-x11/Adwaita, so its now /usr/share/cursors/xorg-x11/Adwaita_do_not_use/
Next time you start Xorg you will get hardware cursors, which is what I like anyway.

Does the hardware pointer still vanish?

That makes no difference here. But downgrading nvidia-driver from 346.35 to 343.36 fixes the problem.

Nice trick with the cursors directory, I can't stand Adwaita ...

@tw04l124: It's the same driver with different use flags that shouldn't affect the driver itself (tools).

Yes... the problem is nvida-drivers. I removed my xorg.conf and X started correctly.

This is my xorg.conf that gives the error: https://bpaste.net/show/d2f12411b576

Is there some configuration errors? Or do you think the problem is the version o nvida driver?

Thanks for helping me!

I have solved this problem using

Option "SWCursor" "True" on my xorg.conf

Why using hardware cursor gives me the error?
