Unsolicited bit of coolness for the people who use transluscent terminal emulators: Tired of manually editing the ebuild, I made a patch to do as the topic says. Just drop this patch: https://a.pomf.se/htuscb.patch in Code: | /etc/portage/patches/media-sound/alsa-utils/transparency.patch | (mkdir the path if it doesn't exist) and remerge alsa-utils. Enjoy.

Small tip: you can (and should) use /etc/portage/patches/ for that sort of thing. /usr/portage is liable to be wiped out during a sync. |

Whoops, I totally meant /etc/portage; that's where mine is... Edited the OP.
Code: | yuuko@navi ~ >>> find / | grep transparency.patch
/etc/portage/patches/media-sound/alsa-utils/transparency.patch |
Also, for added safety, one may consider creating a directory matching a specific version of alsa-utils in case a future version drastically changes color.c and it makes the ebuild fail |
