Grid Wars and sound

Found the old binary zip of Grid Wars for Linux, so I've been playing around with it--tons of fun; pity Bizarre made him pull it down. But I don't get any sound. Any ideas?

just gave it a try myself. very cool game.
rather sad he had to pull it down :/

sound seems to be ok for me, though I don't hear any music.

Yep. I find my situation a bit mystifying (I have heard of other folks getting sound but no music, but not "no sound at all"... not sure what I might be missing).

Fun trippy game, though; this one is going on the arcade machine in the living room once that reappears.

can you suggest any other arcade style games...
feel the urge to try some out after playing this

After not playing it for years, I tried to launch gridwars and received:

./gridwars: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I think almost everything is now using libstdc++.so.6 .... so for GridWars, where do I find a 32-bit libstdc++.so.5 for gridwars?
