On my 32 bits machine, I can't emerge efibootmgr-0.11.0 (dependency of grub-2.02 beta2-r3):
"Cannot find -lefivar"

This hosts was already emerged totally in the past, but i can't update it.

I can't post now my emerge --info trace and logs, but I can give you:
ARCH="x86"
GRUB_PLATFORMS="efi-32 pc"
USE="crypt X binfont device-mapper nls truetype -doc -examples -static-libs -debug -efiemu -libzfs -mount -multislot -sdl -test ....."

I saw that libefivar can be emerged both by:
sys-boot/efivar and
sys-libs/efivar

But sys-boot/efivar give be only /lib64/libefivar.so (on a 32bit machine)
sys-libs/efivars look better but efibootmgr is dependent to the sys-boot version.

Can you help me ?

Alcolo47 ... I don't have the former, so this must be from some other repo.

looking at the dependencies in efibootmgr-0.11.0::gentoo I see sys-libs/efivar ... no mention of sys-boot/efivar at all.

best ... khay

I'm using funtoo: funtoo packages differs:
Funtoo: https://github.com/funtoo/ports-2012/blob/e0514d003409e18fa0ee68cccc0fe56218211533/sys-boot/efibootmgr/efibootmgr-0.11.0.ebuild
Gentoo: http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/sys-boot/efibootmgr/efibootmgr-0.11.0.ebuild?view=markup

RDEPEND differs !

After
sed -i 's,sys-boot/efivar,sys-libs/efivar,' /usr/portage/sys-boot/efibootmgr/efibootmgr-0.11.0.ebuild

my emerge works.
Thanks.

Alcolo47 ... in which case you should post to the funtoo forums, not the gentoo forums. Its these differences that are the reason that we don't support funtoo here ... we can't be expected to *know* that you are using something other than *gentoo*, and so waste our time. Requesting this be moved to unsupported software.

best ... khay

Moved from Portage & Programming to Unsupported Software. Not about Gentoo so it fits better here.
