At random times, times ranging from about 3 seconds to 30 seconds, as i type on the keyboard the input doesn't get processed, of which the lag also lasts a random amount of time, like 1-3 seconds. I have just recently installed Gentoo from a stage3 amd64 build. Even while running Gentoo from the live disk, I had the same issue.
I'm currently running a 3.6.11-gentoo kernel.
The machine from which Gentoo is running is a Lenovo G550 laptop.
What could be causing this? |

I am experiencing a similar problem on all of my dock-connected USB input devices with my laptop - USB devices connected to the ports of the laptop do not misbehave. I had recently ran a high number of updates after the holidays so I cannot target the problem to any particular package but it has to be connected to the package updates as I am still using the same kernel as before the updates.
I can make the problem disappear by plugging the USB device out and in again but I have to do this anew each time I reboot the computer. I have not been able to find related errors in logs. Hopefully somebody can help to figure out the problem. |
