[SOLVED] LiveDVD install on hard drive

Hallo,

ich bin gentoo Neuling und moechte meine Gentoo-livecd auf Festplatte installieren.
gibt es da ein script welches dies uebernimmt, so wie bei anderen live Systemen?
Oder was muss ich machen?

If I'm reading this correctly... you want to install the contents of the LiveDVD directly to your hard disk, instead of doing a normal Gentoo installation?

Yes, it can be done, but it's not a good idea.

Gentoo is a set of tools you use to build your own distro.
When you install the DVD on your hard drive, you get likewhoas Gentoo not yours.

The handbook install teaches you the use of the tools you will need to maintain Gentoo. You will miss that education if you shortcut the install.
You really don't want to learn those lessons on an install with user data on it but then you will have validated backups won't you?

Unlike most other distros, Gentoo is not a binary distro. You will learn some vey hard lessons if you treat it as such.
The guide that rrbs linked is both incomplete and out of date, it does cover the difficult bit though.
