I am trying to use the Gimp to add white (255,255,255) dots, one pixel wide, to a tga image.
Any suggestions on how to do this? (If there is a better program to do this 'simple' task, please let me know.)

Choose stamp icon on left
on right side stamp options - choose brush - pixel(that dot, on top, second from left, in popup menu) - set size 1,
lower are few checkboxes - set hard edge

now u have to find on image white spot - ctrl + left click (to make stamp)
(if u dont have white spot, open new image and take from there)

now u can make pixels - but earlier u can zoom image with with + ('shift' + '=')

If you are pixel-painting, there is a fantastic program called grafx2; For some reason it isn't in the Portage tree, but IIRC ther was an ebuild floating around on bugs.gentoo.com that someone was trying to get into the tree. You could also just manually compile it into your user area.

Thank you.

I finally figured out how to do this with the pencil or brush (I didn't know about the options window for them) however, using the stamp should be better because there is no issue with me moving the mouse and getting more than one pixel.

I just compiled grafx2. Wow that is a serious old-school program.

I am just adding single white pixels to tga files generated in another program.
