Hello everyone,

I have some problems with emerge gcc ... and can't find solution.

I'm using sabayon 14.08 GNOME amd64, and try to emerge vim but get errors.

It says that

Code:
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

So I try to emerge gcc, but I get the same error while emerge bison.

Code:
>>> Emerging (1 of 1) sys-devel/bison-3.0.2
 * bison-3.0.2.tar.xz SHA256 SHA512 WHIRLPOOL size ;-) ...                               [ ok ]

There is no gcc in my $PATH.
Actually, I found there is clang but I don't think it helps ... ?

Can someone give me some suggestions ?

Thank you.

P.S. Sorry for my pool English ...

Moved from Portage & Programming to Unsupported Software.

Sabayon and Gentoo are sufficiently different to say that we don't support Sabayon.
Thats not to say you will not get support here.

If Sabayon has gcc-config, use it to see your presently installed gcc, your active gcc, you probably don't have an active gcc and to select a gcc to use.

Do portage and the Sabayon package manager play nicely together?
