hm. In school shot put was the only form of 'athletics' where I didn't suck.

and in the army I was pretty good with the rifle - and if I started to march, you couldn't stop me. That sporty guys backpack? Yeah, I carry that one too....

Wrestling

Their next guess was shooting, which is actually accurate for me; I shoot skeet every weekend. So the quiz isn't entirely off base.

1. Netball (Basket) I hate it, I really prefer volley or handball
2. Athletics (I like it)
3. Hokey (I play it one time when I was a kid, it was terrific because I just didn't know how to stop so I was using body checks to stop)

So, I will continue with walking, bicycle and swimming. :D

I wonder if the language and culture barriers are too great for Dominique_71 to appreciate the humor in that.

1. Squash (never played but I like the idea and I think I would like it)
2. Badminton (love it)
3. Table tennis (used to play a lot - never was really good at it but mediocre enough to win some matches)

But yeah, lol to that Curry question.

Nothing to elaborate. Just that I wish I was a machine gun operator.

No, no you do not. You do not want to carry that thing every time your unit goes on a hump.

It's not that bad. Even rappelling with it is not too bad. What you don't want to do is jump it (parachute with it) or fall into deep water with it strapped to you.

I was thinking more of the M240 or M2.

EDIT: M249...not as bad.

Sheesh... talk about not being able to see the big picture.

Tell me, what happens when you do open up with that machine gun?

That depends.

If it's minus 10 Fahrenheit and you haven't kept the bolt warm or used low-viscosity lubricant, then you just hear a loud, metallic "kachink!" sound, and you compromise the ambush and 20 guys start unloading on your position.

Otherwise, you become the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla for the next sixty seconds or so (which seems like forever when you're in the middle of it) and motherfuckers be scrambling for cover like cockroaches in a kitchen when the lights come on.

Firing a big machine gun, like an M2 from the cupola of a tank, is even more fun because of the power and recoil, and watching the tracers go out a click and a half and just tear shit up. If you use the laser rangefinder, you can put your first burst on target and just ruin several people's day.

Live for that 60 seconds.

Always live for that 60 seconds. Don't worry about the rest.
