hi all,
whenever I try to emerge qtwebkit, which I have to emerge to be able to successfully run emerge --update --deep --newuse @world.

It just keeps on looping over the same things over and over until the laptop runs out of power or I intervene.

It was orginally a clock skew problem and reporting that is was 32000 s in the future or something, but now it just keeps on trying to compile.

Is there anyway I can emerge this properly?

Thanks in advance
Janga

Are you using ggdb in your cflags?
That causes problems with qtwebkit

Make sure your make.conf is set correctly.

As seen in this post:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-995716-highlight-.html

Omitting options like -march can lead to different results.

Also, it would be great if you posted some error messages.

Hi,
No I do not use ggdb in cflags. Thanks though.

I will try emerging qtwebkit with -march=native in cflags tonight. I will let you know how it goes.

Where can I find the logs for emerge?

Thanks

I am unsure why but saying MAKEOPTS="-j1" instead of -j5 works
