Hi, I use postfix with dovecot for my mail server.

The problem is that I had the doubt where attachments are saved

They are attached to the mail itself. Described as MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions).

So they will be stored on the MTA(s) until the Mail will received by Users Mail Client or some Web Interface of your Mail Provider. I have actual no dovecot or postfix Mail server. Just check your configuration files.

Don't know how this handle Mails you are sending, and how long they would be stored. And if you or your users have to delete them manual. Could be that some Mail Clients handle attachments different after receiving them.
