Hi, I'm having trouble getting adobe-flash to work properly in firefox here. I can view youtube, and other videos and websites just fine. However, when I attemot to play a Farmville 2 via Facebook, it won't load, saying that I need to upgrade my flash player. I can, however, get it to load in Chrome. I was wondering if there was another flash that I need to look at, or what I need to do to get this to work? I appreciate any and all input!!

Thanks!!

Todd

First off, Flash is dead but I guess that won't solve your issue ;-) . Second is that Almighty Adobe decided to drop Flash for Linux as of version 11.2.202 (or something). So you'll be stuck with that version. If that doesn't work I'm afraid there's not much you can do about that but grab the latest Linux version of the plugin and drop it to your profile's .mozilla/plugins directory. Check there's no global Flash plugin such as Gnash or swfdec (I think it's to be found in /usr/share/plugins or /usr/share/mozilla/plugins).

Chrome has its own flash player built-in so you don't need anything else. FYI I'm using it to work around the numerous Flash crashes in Firefox. I also noticed the Flash plugin is more stable on Linux Mint than on my Gentoo machine but I am pretty sure that's a configuration issue (such as VDPAU).

I was afraid of this. Adobe has bought out a lot of fine companies and really messed some fine products up. It's a shame they've ended Linix support. Thanks for your info, and I'll try the things you laid out. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's having to use Chrome as a work around. :D
