Would like to add lxdm too OpenRc but not able to find xdm file for init.d?
Added xdm to conf.d but that of course did not work.
Can anyone point me too Openrc initc.d files please? |

MrGreen ... /etc/init.d/xdm is installed by xorg-server ...
Code: | # equery belongs /etc/init.d/xdm
* Searching for /etc/init.d/xdm ...
x11-base/xorg-server-1.15.0 (/etc/init.d/xdm) |
... this package is a dependency of any X11 package, so it should be installed ... not sure if the 'minimal' useflag has any effect on this (a brief glance at the ebuild suggests not).

MrGreen ... if, as you say, you "have X installed" then you should have it ... its part of the x11-base/xorg-server. The fact that you don't needs explanation ... at least that is how I would approach the problem of missing files.
Anyhow, its installed by x11-base/xorg-server so can be found in the tree ...
Code: | # diff /usr/portage/x11-base/xorg-server/files/xdm.initd-9 /etc/init.d/xdm ; echo $?

MrGreen ...
you should in such cases be open about what it is you're doing, this is not a gentoo question. Your avoidance above re "having X" just causes people to waste their time as this is a gentoo forum, so the assumption is you're using gentoo. In future be honest about what it is you need ... and post in "Unsupported Software".
