- I cant open DVD directory or disc. Have to enter into directory and open file. After that it works
- VLC does not display subtitles from *.srt files

You don't have support for DVD (USE flag 'dvd' is not provided). You don't have support for Fontconfig or TrueType so, vlc can not display text. I would recommend adding to /etc/portage/package.use line
media-video/vlc dvd fontconfig truetype
Usually it is also good to have 'matroska' there since this adds support for .mkv files
Check other USE flags to see if you find something interesting for you. |
