|
Running dhclient gets me the following error in /var/log/messages:
Code: |
sixpence dhclient: Can't create /var/run/dhcp/dhcpclient.pid: No such file or directory
|
where /var/run is linked to /run
The DHCPDISCOVER goes through correctly, but I'd like to avoid the error
message if I can.
Anyone any ideas?

Does /run/dhcp exist? If not, check why the dhclient init script is not creating it. |

Hi can you specify 'howto' check why the script is not running?
@OP did you solve your problem? |

No, the /run/dhcp entry doesn't exist, but since dhclient works I haven't looked
further; I'll do so as soon as I have time.
