...and we're supposed to divine why ?
Cause in the posted snippet there's not really anything useful.

This is the output of emerge -avp, I am not sure if the problem is with the masked package or with some USE flag, can you tell ?

Code:

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R    ] sys-devel/gcc-4.7.3-r1:4.7  USE="awt%* cxx fortran mudflap (multilib) nls nptl openmp (-altivec) -doc (-fixed-point) -gcj -go -graphite (-hardened) (-libssp) -multislot -nopie -nossp -objc -objc++ -objc-gc -regression-test -vanilla (-gtk%*) (-lto%)" 0 kB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB

!!! The following installed packages are masked:
- sys-kernel/module-rebuild-0.5::gentoo (masked by: package.mask)
/usr/portage/profiles/package.mask:
# Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> (28 Dec 2013)
# Replaced by 'emerge @module-rebuild' set in Portage itself.
# Removal in 30 days, see http://bugs.gentoo.org/410739

For more information, see the MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge
man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

 * IMPORTANT: 9 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
 * Use eselect news to read news items.

Thanks

* die "You need at least GCC 4.7.x or Clang >= 3.0 for C++11-specific compiler flags"

there is an OR statement. you gotta change your flash license acceptance.

no...

(as root)
echo "www-plugins/adobe-flash AdobeFlash-11.x" >> /etc/portage/package.license

look through your original post and resolve problems 1 by 1.

this is your primary blocker on the original post.

It had nothing to do with the flash license, as I thought cause the line was there already.

I found the solution just by searching google and found this thread :

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7468512.html

Had to configure GCC 4.7 as the default compiler, didn't know that.

Thank you for pointing out though, much appreciated !
