This thread has gotten all strange.

energyman76b thinks I should get a G3 to blast through trees (actually, not surprising).

BoneKracker thinks he's an idiot on the Internet (no surprise there, either).

notageek somehow thinks that AK-47s are for old men (wut?)

Muso wants a Red Ryder, and in addition, seems to think we're all already dead.

I'm thinking...I should be getting to bed now.

My old dad always swore by the Bren Gun, said it was extremely easy to use.

Just get a 50 Cal Barret, then you can really reach out and touch someone.

I just bought a box of these. I'll keep ten in a magazine in case anyone gets any funny ideas about home invasion.

300 BLK Subsonic 220 gr Hollow Point

This should be enough to...encourage intruders to not get back up.

NOTE: California limits me to ten round magazines.

Not Zombie Apocalypse Approved. You should pick a weapon for which you can find ammunition just about anywhere, and pick it up from the corpses of your fallen comrades.

Why would I do that when I can load my own ammunition? It's just a standard .223 case with a standard .308 slug.

Well, as long as you've got your own loading gear and can get to it once in a while, I suppose it's fine.

I need to rent a place with a garage, first. For now, I just have that one box of 20 rounds in the mail. The AR-15s primary function is a home defense weapon, so that one box is really all I need.

Next... I'll worry about 110 gr supersonic ammunition for engaging deer out to 200 yards.

What about making the components of your ammunition from commonly available materials. What will you do when you can't get this stuff? What can you make from commonly available materials, and what must keep a stock of (e.g. primers)?

Fallacy. The appropriate course of action is to stock massive amounts of primers, .223 brass, and .308 slugs. All of these are cheap and plentiful.

EDIT: I'm completely wasted right now, and attempting to cook.

That sounds like a plan.

Try not to burn the house down.

I didn't burn the house down. I'm also going to start making this every morning for breakfast. Egg beaters, maple sausage paddies, and hash browns.

Someday I would like to own one of them. Solely because the dimwit Brady had it on his anti-gun site.

William, for home defense, I still say you can't beat a good Shotgun. You don't have to worry about any rounds penetrating through the target and 5 walls.

That's why this ammo is subsonic. It won't do that, either.

I want a Remington 700.
I want a Remington 1100 Sporting Series.
One AK 47.
And a S&W Model 29.

Thank you very much.

The Remington 700 has the tendency to fire when you disengage the safety. If you get one, don't tweak the trigger.

I'm not as familiar with any shotgun as I am the AR-15.

You should stick with the AR-15 you were trained on.

When you can afford it, get the M-203 Grenade Launcher mod; it's perfect for zombies.

Oh, and get a good first aid kit while you're at it.

The ammo has come in. Still no word on the upper receiver shipping. This ammo is some really heavy stuff.

We want to see video of you blasting the crap out of some watermelons or something. This must have music and include slow-motion footage of you shooting, including the look on your face.
