Ok I was messing around with kernel options and I built a kernel that just wont load. (ACPI)
I did save a backup to /boot/bzImage.bak however I did not create an entry for it in menu.1st.
Question I have can I get GRUB to boot with the bzImage.bak from the GRUB command line? If so how?
I did search the forums and google for an answer but could not find one. |

When you boot to grub hit an UP or DOWN arrow key on your keyboard to keep it from auto-counting down. Then you can hit 'e' on your keyboard to edit (temporarily) your configuration, just follow the directions at the bottom of the Grub screen. Keep in mind that if you had any modules they will not be present for your old kernel (unless you built them as modules also for your new-broken kernel too). Hopefully this will get you to a point where you can build a new kernel easily. If worst comes to worst you can boot with a Gentoo CD and build a kernel and edit your menu.lst.
