Is this supported by proprietary nvidia?
Code: | Initializing built-in extension XINERAMA |
Twinview instead? |

Now this will sound bonkers, but since upgrading to the latest ~Gnome3.8 and systemd, I was left with a black screen when logging in.
I am presented with GDM from where I log in, and then I am left with a blank screen.
Sometimes it will load the desktop AFTER 4 MINUTES!!! and other times, nothing.
Even after waiting for 4 minutes, I am taken back to the GDM login screen. !!
I removed networkmanager from start up and the blank screen problem was solved. How weird.
I do think however, my solution will not work for all. _________________ Whatever you do, do it properly! |

And no matter how hard I tried to look for (obvious) errors, there were none... Finally, I removed systemd, removed Gnome-3.8, then installed OpenRC and XFCE... |

I had a problem similar to this but it was because I couldn't get the nouveau drivers working. I fixed it by switching to the nvidia drivers. |

...ok...it was mysterioulsy working for a while, but I've just rebuilt most of my system and still get the black screen and when I press Ctrl + Alt + F1 I get this:
Code: | Loading extension GLX
Loading extension NV-GLX
Loading extension NV-CONTROL
Loading extension XINERAMA
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc: line 59: twm: command not found
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc: line 62: xterm: command not found |
and a flashing cursor
I really want to solve this... and I can't believe no one else has this issue _________________ --------------

If you install xterm, you will probably get a terminal instead of just a flashing cursor. lol.
Seeing how you have just rebuilt your system it might be worthwhile using
Code: | eselect opengl list |
and checking your opengl is set properly. _________________ Whatever you do, do it properly! |
