Ran emerge -Duvan @world followed by emerge --depclean and X now tells me that no devices detected, no screens configured. I have tried emerging the xf86-video moules that Xorg.0.log references, but no dice. I have tried rebuilding the kernel and refreshing the symlink to make sure it is pointing to the right location. Any ideas how I should start trying to fix this? Thanks!

emerge @x11-module-rebuild will rebuild all your X11 modules. Might not fix it thoguh, have you tried running revdep-rebuild as well?

Rebuilding the X modules didn't fix it.
I can now include some logs that might shine some light:

Since then, I did load the older config into the newer kernel and rebuilt from there, making sure the symlink was correctly pointed to the newer source directory. I re-emerged consolekit, udev, and did initially run revdep-rebuild... I'm open to any ideas.
