Hi,

app-office/libreoffice-bin-4.1.2.3 wants app-text/poppler:0/37, which corresponds to poppler-0.22.5. But poppler wants to update itself to 0.24.3. So there is a slot conflict.

Now I have to either remove libreoffice-bin, or mask >app-text/poppler-0.22.5 in order to make portage happy. But I want to update poppler *and* keep libreoffice-bin.

Creating a full-blown slot for poppler comes to mind. Is this possible? What are other options?

I cannot emerge libreoffice (the non-binary package) because my system is underpowered.

Only way is to mask poppler in my expierence. I try to build openoffice for quite a while and it breaks after an hour. The binary package only sometimes work because of the dependencies.

If you have a working binary installed I personally suggest you keep that poppler as you get more hassle in the road.

There is a libreoffice-bin-4.1.3.2 marked as ~arch. Put it into package.accept_keywords and enjoy your latest poppler ;)
