Hello.
I am looking for a program in STANDARD GENTOO REPOSITORIES which would check my google mailbox and produce a sound whenever I receive a new message. So far I found nothing. I am quite surprised, because in Debian, for example, despite their strict regulations, there are several such programs.
Does anybody know such a program in Gentoo? |

i dont support kde... but thats ok because you do!
kde-misc/plasma-widget-message-indicator
possibly
net-im/indicator-messages
if you're using firebird it can also notify you, though i dont know how to start it minimized & only sending notifications.
http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kde-runtime/kcontrol/kcmnotify/index.html
i used these to search google 'kde email sound' 'kde mail notification applet' half the time the real battle is figuring out how to word your searches. i wonder if our wiki has a mail notification section setup yet.... ill have to add it to requested articles if not. |
