Recently, I notice that X is using absurd amounts of memory -- I have seen RSS values up to 4GB. My system is configured with the fglrx drivers (ati-drivers) because when I bought the hardware, the radeon driver did not support it (AMD A6-3500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics).
Could this be indicative of a hardware problem? Otherwise, what might I have done to cause this problem?
Any notes on going back to the radeon driver? I need to make sure that I get the correct kernel settings and remove anything required for the ati-drivers. For example kernel modesetting. |

Its probably a memleak in the drivers, I recently switched to the radeon drivers from fglrx, I just followed the wiki page on it and ran into no trouble. |
