|
|
Hello to everybody enlightened, I am a very new user of E17. (x11-wm/enlightenment:0.17.5_pre2)
I use dual-monitor setup, where the left one is CRT and the right one is LCD. They are connected via nVidia 8500GT video card and I use nvidia-drivers. Both monitors have set the same resolution 1600x1200px.
When I left-mouse-click on the desktop, pop-up menu appears. I can navigate through the menu without a problem on both monitors alike. The problem is, that when I activate an item in menu on my right monitor, nothing happens (when I click the item in left-monitor menu, appropriate application starts).
The shelf on my right monitor is affected by this problem partially too. The right-click menu on the shelf appears, but clicking anything does not work. Changing keyboard layout, settings arrow (the "^" sign on the left) and iBox menu do show a pop-up, but individual items don't do anything. Other widgets like iBar, clock, sound, etc. do work perfectly.
I tried to flip the positions of monitors via arandr, but the problem persists (the screen that starts at position 1600px+ has non-working menu).
I tried to re-emerge, while deleting the ~/.e/ folder.
I went through all the enlightenment preferences and found nothing.
After googling up this thread, I contacted it's author and he told me that changing the profile+re-emerge helped him (he used some pentoo profile previously). I tried default, desktop and desktop/gnome profiles with no success.
?I think I remember reading somewhere, that the items for right monitor menu have the link setup to null by default for some reason? But I can't find out how to edit what does the menu actually show.
This is my /etc/X11/xorg.conf for reference, I tried the automated nvidia configuration, but the problem does not go away:
Code: | # nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated by nvidia-settings
# nvidia-settings: version 325.15 (portage@lactarius) Thu Oct 17 11:14:20 CEST 2013
# nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig
# nvidia-xconfig: version 331.17 (buildmeister@swio-display-x64-rhel04-18) Thu Oct 17 11:38:39 PDT 2013

Thanx in advance for any helpful comments.
EDIT:
Adding some other info... I have gnome and xfce installed also (gnome-thing items appear in the enlightenment menu).
I have these package.use flags set up for enlightenment:

Ok I was not able to find a solution... At Enlightenment IRC channel I have been told, that Gentoo is evil and nobody should use it =)
But I devised a workaround... I have downgraded to enlightenment 0.17.4
Code: | # emerge --unmerge enlightenment
# echo "=x11-wm/enlightenment-0.17.5_pre2" >> /etc/portage/package.mask
# emerge --pretend enlightenment:0.17
|
worked for me... new stable release of enlightenment has come out yesterday though, so maybe it will be solved there, once it finds it's way to portage. _________________ N00B, what could I mess up for you today? |

I have the same issue with the right monitor not responding the menus after upgrading to 0.17.5_pre2. Reverting to 0.17.4 works. |
