Not sure whether this belongs in Desktop Environments or Networking & Security. Anyway, has anyone who uses KDE tried KDE Connect yet?

KDE Connect: Fusion your devices with KDE (GSOC 2013)

Releasing KDE Connect Technology Preview

Very interesting. I have not come across an ebuild as yet.

Ebuild inside the kde overlay. There's an additional kdelibs patch needed for powerdevil battery integration though ;)

I'm using it, and what a nice little gadget - stopping media at incoming calls, notifications and shared clipboard... a glimpse of more to come, hopefully.

I'm using it with my OpenSUSE laptop. I find the call notifications are probably the best feature. When I'm jacked in with my headphones, I no longer miss calls, as the sound & popup alerts in KDE Connect work very well.

Okay, this is pretty sweet! Seems like there's a lot that can be worked into this in the future as well....

Alright, so I've successfully shared a file from my droid phone to my laptop... is the ability to share files the other way in this yet? If so, does anyone know how?

Haven't tried file transfer from KDE => Android yet, but you could also try the AirDroid app; IIRC it supports bi-directional transfers.
