|
|
Hello,
I just followed the migration guide http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/grub2-migration.xml
I am now at that part, where I can chainload grub2. That in itself works however in grub lagacy there is an additional entry for my Windows7 installation an a further entry called (Linux other), from which I can load a secound grub residing in the MBR of another harddrive, where some other distros are installed for testing purposes etc.
Now with GRUB2 I can only see Gentoo-Linux and nothing else. How do I explain to GRUB2, that I would like to have those other entries as well?
Thanks in advance.

emerge and run os-prober then repeat grub2-mkconfig read grub.cfg to see if other os's were picked up _________________ Defund the FCC. |

Thanks a lot,
worked perfectly.
+ Now all OSes are can be selected from one and the same list without the need for chainloading anything else
+ No need to edit grub config files manually - nice!
PS: Maybe an entry regarding the os-prober thingy could be inserted into the Handbook and the migration guide. |
