our udisks ebuilds are identical
our udisks distfiles packages are identical
if your emerge -pv virtual/udev now yielding [ebuild R ] virtual/udev-200 USE="gudev hwdb introspection keymap kmod (-selinux) -static-libs" 0 kB, something peculiar is happening in econf/emake to pull in some obsolete code

no such luck... udisks failed again, update world yielded only one reinstall:
[ebuild NS ] sys-fs/udisks-1.0.4-r5:0 [2.1.0:2] USE="nls -debug -remote-access (-selinux)" 0 kB
* ERROR: sys-fs/udisks-1.0.4-r5::gentoo failed (compile phase):

put <=sys-fs/udisks-1.0.4-r5 in /etc/portage/package.mask
Code: | echo "<=sys-fs/udisks-1.0.4-r5" >> /etc/portage/package.mask
emerge -unmerge udisks:0
emerge -uavND world
| the output should tell what is asking for the deprecated udisks _________________ Defund the FCC. |

Code: | emerge --usepkgonly -av sys-fs/udisks:0 | ??
http://bpaste.net/show/135393/ is a diff of our buid.logs mine < yours >
perhaps someone good at reading build logs can pick out the reason the same ebuild and distfile produces different build logs _________________ Defund the FCC. |

Code: | cd /lib32
ln -s libudev.so.1.2.1 /lib32/libudev.so.0
cd /lib64
ln -s libudev.so.1.3.5 /lib64/libudev.so.0 |

so wrong, but so right.
I have no idea why the portage gods want you to have libdev.so.0 and me not. _________________ Defund the FCC. |

I am a little wary of the behavior of the machine now... But USB pendrive loaded nicely by itself. Do you know what these mean?
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf", line 14: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.
warning: Could not load shared library symbols for linux-vdso.so.1.
Do you need "set solib-search-path" or "set sysroot"? |

Computers do what you tell them to?? My gentoo installs over the past 10 years have always been explainable.
The only reason software would do things that have not been explicitly instructed are one of two things, A cracker has gained access to your system or You have faulty hardware.
Download PC-Check or something and test you're rig. Preferably an overnight test, put it under stress and see what fails. _________________ A WikI, A collection of mass misinformation based on opinion and manipulation by a deception of freedom.

The following might help clean up some nits:
Code: | emerge --sync
emerge -uavND world
emerge --depclean
revdep-rebuild
etc-update |
and then let it run over the weekend on
Code: | emerge -eav --keep-going world |
