Hallo, i have an Mainboard P5W Hd deluxe with
Manual: RealtekALC882M audio-codec

I get no sound.and the package alsa-utils seems not to work, i have no alsa-conf in this package.
My Kernel-.config:

i did exacly this until the test, where i get no sound:

That there's no /dev/dsp* shouldn't really be a problem.
Add 'aplay -l' for completeness.
Most promising is surround51, though usually it's stereo that you care about most.
'amixer' on *every* available card might give some hints too.

I had no sound on my intel hd and solved it with:

Device drivers
->generic driver options
-->[*] Include in-kernel firmware blobs in kernel binary

It would work without that if alsa was built as a module but not in kernel. Worth a try?
