Hi
Just wondering if there was ever a fork or a new project created spawning from zoneminder
Code: | http://www.zoneminder.com/downloads |
Last dev I see is late 2011, it mentions a ebuild but I suppose due to its age now it has been discontinued.
I'm interested to know has anyone got any good alternatives to zoneminder which may or may not have an ebuild.
My goal here is to build a firewall/gw that has support for voip/asterisk with the possibility of combining a decent cctv recording & gui/interface.(zoneminder?)
Am I biting off more then I can chew? I know its probably preferable to keep your firewall as a firewall and the rest behind it.
All suggestions and ideas welcome.
Thanks! |

It appears that ZoneMinder development has been recently revived over the past month or two. It's active on github, a couple of forks have been merged into the original code, support for modern ffmpeg versions, and a new web interface is in development
The climax is that version 1.26.2 was released a couple of days ago! _________________ If ~amd64 ebuilds are cutting edge, then git-9999 ebuilds are chainsaws.

This is great news, I've tried to get ZoneMinder working (from zugaina), but got tired after spending 3+ hours fixing issues and searching for patches. (Every time I found and fixed an issue the compilation failed with a new error.) _________________ My Gentoo installation notes.

Nice, must check it out again. I ended up purchasing a standalone dvr at the time just to get things up and running. |

'motion' is what I'm using now. It doesn't need an apache, SQL database, etc and is a lot simpler. |
