I seen the latest genpatches-base for the 2.6.32 branch is 48, which only goes up to 2.6.32.52. How do you create a new one (I'm thinking 49) to include the latest patchset (2.6.32.61)? |

Look at the ebuild for the 2.6.x kernel branch. It should specify the genpatch set to use. If 48 is the last set the kernel ending in 61 will use set 48.
In theory this works because the only difference in version numbers is minor. _________________ The Birth and Growth of Science is the Death and Atrophy of Art -- Unknown

I'm currently testing if I can replace all the multiple patches with a single patch (patch-2.6.32.61), along with the dm-bbr, fbcondecor, and alpha-sysctl patches.
Looks like it does work. Sweet. Can I send this up the chain to be tested and call it 2.6.32-r42 (maybe)? This is probably going to be the last 2.6.32 version for this branch. |

1. Talk to the Kernel Developers... Email Addresses/Aliases should be listed in the changelog, or
2. Submit a bug Request under Keyword Stabilization requesting a version bump.
Either way, your kernel will be submitted under ~arch until tested. _________________ The Birth and Growth of Science is the Death and Atrophy of Art -- Unknown

Roger that.
I also have a mbl-gentoo-sources (2.6.32.60) configured for the WD MyBook Live. It works great and includes a large patchset to 2.6.32.60 (thanks rhyzov_al on mybookworld.wikidot.com) for the AMCC 82181 processor's features and proper config (apollo3g-defconfig).
Unfortunately, it won't patch to 2.6.32.61.. but I'll figure it out and make an -r1. |
