FATAL: invalid value for parameter "port": "-S"


Script

do
pg_ctl -Z datanode -o "-p $($port + $i) -S 7168" -D /localscratch/`whoami`/pgsql/data_datanode"$i" -l /localscratch/`whoami`/pgsql/datanode"$i"_logfile start

done

Kindly provide pointers to solution.

Is there a reason why you need three postgres servers running on the same machine, and can't use the standard /etc/init.d/postgresql-9.x method?

I am just trying to a single postgres with three datanodes.

You should be using Postgres' built in tablespace support if you want data in multiple directories. There's no advantage to running it this way.
