Fun day. Took the offspring to the Grand Prix in Baltimore. They shut down the downtown area, and run the cars on a 2.something mile twisty-turny loop through the inner-harbor area. The American Le Mans Series race was the highlight of the day, and much to my surprise, the Corvette C6 ZR1's took first and second in the GT class. So my first thought was to come on here to rub it in that everybody's least favorite American brand produced the top two cars of the race over some European classics. Because, really, what fun would this board be without a nationalistic dick measuring contest, after all? I guess the Porsches don't really count since they weren't running. A crash early in the race took out one of the F458s, a GT3 RSR, and a viper GTS_R in the GT class.

Oh, and "Obama". Cause we all know that the thread will end with a discussion regarding our hatred or love for the man since this is off-topic. |

Baltimore is a shithole, and it's Obama's fault. _________________

Yes... Baltimore is, for the most part, a giant cesspool. There are little bright spots throughout the city that make it worth visiting though. However, this is nothing new, and this condition existed long before Obama took office. |

It's still Mr. HopeyChange's fault, just like Hurricane Katrina and Global Warming were Bush's fault. _________________

America has a Le Mans?
Anyway, to answer the original question. Even the sun shines on a dog's ass some days.
In all seriousness though, those are only the cars that they were originally based upon and the resemblance is superficial at best. In reality it's a completely different car, there is not one part that wouldn't have been changed. _________________ "Sex: breakfast of champions" - James Hunt |

I've seen the Wire so I know Baltimore and all the people in it intimately. Which one are you: Bubbles? Omar? Stringer Bell?
PS: not that we're dick-measuring or anything but they had to bring in British characters for all the important roles in the Wire. |

Yeah. You better be careful not to swing that thing into the rear spokes. _________________ "History began on July 4,1776. Everything before that was a mistake." -Ron Swanson |

The American People don't want to bomb Syria. Obama pretty much tried to pull the trigger, but must have got some recent polling data or something and, at the last minute, decided to "lead from behind". Yesterday he announced that he's asking Congress (who are on vacation) for their approval, and then he and Joe Biden headed off to play a round of golf. I shit you not.
They left Mr. Antiwar, John Kerry, to make the rounds of the news shows flapping his gums about what a threat Syria is to our national security, what a devil Assad is, and why it's absolutely imperative that we do this. Teh childrenz!! And this right after Obama said, "Meh... it's not time-sensitive."
This administration is such a cluster-fuck.
By the way, has anyone else noticed that Kerry looks like his right eye isn't pointing in the correct direction? Did he have a stroke or something and not tell anybody? _________________

It's been running since 1999. The Grand Prix in Baltimore is only on it's third year, though. |
