Hello everyone, I'm new too gentoo.
While installing it I came across a problem, this happens every time I boot without live CD.
Code: | root(hd0,0)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
kernel /boot/kernel-genkernel-x86-3.10.7-gentoo-r5 root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc ramdisk=8192 real_root=/dev/sda3
Error 15:File not found |
Any help would be appreciated guys! |

Actually just read similar thread and its not worth all the effort I'll just re-install and try to install grub 2 this time.
Wish me luck! |

well, good luck!
But that error just says that grub can't find the kernel on /boot/kernel-genkernel-x86-3.10.7-gentoo-r5. Maybe it is misspelled or not on the first partition (0,0) or you miss the /boot symlink on the boot partition or something like that. So just boot the livecd, mount the boot patrition and watch out for the kernel-file-(name) and the boot symlink. correct grub.conf and you should be fine....
But you can never get enough practice with installing from scratch!

dont reinstall, just install grub2... or lilo it up, but i like grub2 finding my kernels and taking out the chance of spelling errors..... |
