Hi everybody,

since a few days, I get the following message when running emerge -uDNva @world

Quote:

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy "virtual/python-imaging[python_targets_python2_5(-)?,python_targets_python2_6(-)?,python_targets_python2_7(-)?,python_targets_python3_2(-)?,python_targets_python3_3(-)?,-python_single_target_python2_5(-),-python_single_target_python2_6(-),-python_single_target_python2_7(-),-python_single_target_python3_2(-),-python_single_target_python3_3(-)]".
!!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request:
- sci-libs/scipy-0.12.0::gentoo (Change USE: -python_targets_python3_2 -python_targets_python2_7)
(dependency required by "sci-libs/scipy-0.12.0" [installed])
(dependency required by "@selected" [set])
(dependency required by "@world" [argument])

When I follow the advice given by portage and add the USE flags -python_targets_python3_2 -python_targets_python2_7, I get the following message

Quote:

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies |

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for sci-libs/scipy
... done!

!!! The ebuild selected to satisfy "scipy" has unmet requirements.
- sci-libs/scipy-0.12.0::gentoo USE="-doc -sparse -test" PYTHON_TARGETS="-python2_5 -python2_6 -python2_7 -python3_2 -python3_3"

The following REQUIRED_USE flag constraints are unsatisfied:
any-of ( python_targets_python2_5 python_targets_python2_6 python_targets_python2_7 python_targets_python3_2 python_targets_python3_3 )

Any ideas how to fix this issue apart from downgrading to scipy-0.11.0-r1?

I had the same problem recently, and it went away after I just added
Code:
sci-libs/scipy -python_targets_python3_2

to /etc/portage/package.use (you need at least one active build target).

Almost the same here. Voltago's tip, however, didn't solve the problem.
Any clues are appreciated.
Code:
emerge -vpuDN world

The following USE changes are necessary to proceed:
 (see "package.use" in the portage(5) man page for more details)
# required by dev-python/pandas-0.12.0
# required by dev-python/statsmodels-0.4.3
# required by @selected
# required by @world (argument)
>=sci-libs/scipy-0.12.0 python_targets_python3_2

emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy "virtual/python-imaging[python_targets_python2_5(-)?,python_targets_python2_6(-)?,python_targets_python2_7(-)?,python_targets_python3_2(-)?,python_targets_python3_3(-)?,-python_single_target_python2_5(-),-python_single_target_python2_6(-),-python_single_target_python2_7(-),-python_single_target_python3_2(-),-python_single_target_python3_3(-)]".
!!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request:
- sci-libs/scipy-0.12.0::gentoo (Change USE: -python_targets_python3_2 -python_targets_python2_7, this change violates use flag constraints defined by sci-libs/scipy-0.12.0: 'any-of ( python_targets_python2_5 python_targets_python2_6 python_targets_python2_7 python_targets_python3_2 python_targets_python3_3 )')
(dependency required by "sci-libs/scipy-0.12.0" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "dev-python/statsmodels-0.4.3" [installed])
(dependency required by "@selected" [set])
(dependency required by "@world" [argument])

Code:
package.use
virtual/python-imaging -python_targets_python3_2 python_targets_python2_7
sci-libs/scipy -python_targets_python3_2 python_targets_python2_7

EDIT: I've already tried set/unset these packages for both python targets. None of them solved the problem.

Code:
virtual/python-imaging -python_targets_python3_2 python_targets_python2_7
sci-libs/scipy python_targets_-python3_2 python_targets_python2_7
ohhhhh.
sci-libs/scipy and virtual/python-imaging must have the same python_targets_*
Code:
virtual/python-imaging python_targets_python2_7
sci-libs/scipy python_targets_python2_7
2.7 ---> alright
Code:
virtual/python-imaging -python_targets_python3_2
sci-libs/scipy python_targets_-python3_2
3.2 ---> wrong way!
